PERBEDAAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PERSEPSI PENANGANAN SERTA PERAWATAN LUKA PADA MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN DAN NON KEDOKTERAN DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Introduction. Wounds are injuries that breaks connection between epitel cell on body tissues. Prevalence of wound incident each year in Indonesia increase along with growth rate and population mobility. Wounds usually can healing by body itself but it’s still need well knowledge and perception about wound handling and caring. Medical student receive material and skills lab about wound management during studies. In contrary non medical student do not receive that material during studies and rarely exposed about health information. So this research is conducted to know about differences of knowledge and perceptions in wound handling and care among medical and non-medical student at sriwijaya university. Methods. This research uses analytic method with cross sectional study design. The location of this research is at faculty of medicine and non-medicine at Sriwijaya University. Each sample consist of 167 medical student and 167 non medical student. Data will be analyzed with univariat analysis and bivariate used Chi-Square test. Results. There is differences of knowledge (p=0,000) and perceptions (p=0,04) about wound handling and caring in medicine non medicine student. Conclusion. There is differences of knowledge and perceptions in wound handling and care among medicine and non-medicine student at sriwijaya university.
