POLA DERMATOGLIFI TERHADAP PERSONALITY TRAITS MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Personalities and dermatoglyphic patterns have a similarity, which is that it can used to differentiate one individual from another. By knowing the dermatoglyphic patterns of medical students and their personality traits, it may become a basic reference for interpersonal relationships between the future doctor and their future patients in their career. This study aims to look at the distribution of dermatoglyphic patterns by the personality traits of medical students in guiding and shaping behavior towards a balanced personality. This study is a descriptive observational study with the sample obtained using total sampling. Participants in this study were 190 medical students of Universitas Sriwijaya, class of 2017–2019. Participants filled out a Google Form by sending a photo of their left thumbprint and answer the IPIP-BFM-Indonesia questionnaire. The results show that the largest number of participants were 21 years of age (35.8%) and were mostly female (72.1%). The most common dermatoglyphic pattern was the ulnar loop pattern (54.7%).
