KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN LEIOMIOMA UTERI DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI 2017 – JULI 2020
Introduction: Uterine leiomyoma or commonly referred to as uterine myoma or fibroid is a type of benign uterine tumor that originates from smooth muscle cells in the myometrium that are sensitive to steroid sex hormones, because of their incidence increases at reproductive age, and regresses after menopause. Based on previous research at RSMH Palembang in 2012, it was stated that 52.40% of gynecology patients at RSMH Palembang were uterine leiomyoma patients. Because of the high incidence rate and the absence of research on the characteristics of leiomyoma uterine patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, this research was conducted to update the data and to know the characteristics of leiomyoma uterine patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in the period of January 2017 to July 2020. Methods: This research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional study design with data taken from the medical records of uterine leiomyoma patients for the period from 1st January 2017 to 31st July 2020 who meet the inclusion criteria. Results and Conclusion: The incidence rate of uterine leiomyoma at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in the period of January 2017 to July 2020 is 136 patients with the distribution that majorly found are intramural type (43%), aged 26 – 45 years old (70,6%), still menstruating (93,4%), BMI 18,5 – 25 (52,9%), nulliparity (52,2%) with 33,8% patient with nulliparity has BMI of > 27, age of menarche 11 – 15 years old (97,5%), main symptoms were abnormal uterine bleeding (36,8%), without the comorbid diseases (86%), and managed by myomectomy (49,3%).
