Background. Washing Hands is one of actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The usage of hand-washing products which contain detergent or alcohol and improper hand washing procedures could cause skin disorders. This study aims to find the relationship between hand washing behavior and skin disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method. This research is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted in July-December 2020. The research samples were all workers at Puskesmas 4 Ulu, Puskesmas Merdeka, and Puskesmas Sukarami Palembang City with 163 respondents in total. The data were collected with questionnaire and processed using SPSS. Result. This study showed that out of 163 total respondents, 93 respondents met the inclusion criteria. Eighty six respondents (92.5%) did not experience skin disorders. Seventy three respondents (78.5%) wash their hands > 10 times / day. Fifty four respondents (58.1%) washed their hands for > 20 seconds. Eighty four respondents (90.3%) wash their hands using hand-soap. Respondents who experienced skin disorders consisted of 7 persons with Xerosis (26.9%), followed by Squama and Pruritus, 5 persons for each skin disorder (20.8%). Conclusion. As shown by the result, there was no significant relationship between hand-washing behavior (hand-washing frequency, hand-washing duration, and the use of handwashing products) with skin disorders among workers in Puskesmas 4 Ulu, Puskesmas Merdeka, and Puskesmas Sukarami Palembang City. Further research is needed with more samples and a wider scope, as well as a direct and complete physical examination. Keywords: hand washing, skin disorders, COVID-19 pandemic
