Background: Varicose veins are defined as subcutaneous veins in the lower extremities that are dilated to more than 3 mm in diameter. Varicose veins occur due to increased pressure in the veins with insufficiency in the venous valve which causes retrograde flow or backflow to the legs which then causes the blood vessels to experience dilatation and elongation. The aim of this study was to determine the distribution of risk factors that cause leg vein disease in inpatients who were treated at RSMH Palembang in the period January 2019-December 2019. Methods: This study is a descriptive study of medical records with a cross-sectional design.
