Background. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a type of epithelial carcinoma that arises from the nasopharynx mucosal lining. NPC usually develops in the fossa of Rosenmüller and can spread intracranially or locally as a mass in the head. NPC's initial signs and symptoms are usually unilateral tinnitus, otalgia, nasal sound, hearing loss, nasal congestion, runny nose, blood-mixed mucus, and nosebleeds. However, the nasopharynx location tends to be hidden, and the unspecific symptoms make this tumour often late diagnosed. This study aims to determine the audiometry of patients with NPC in the ENT-HN department of Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang 1 June 2016 – 1 June 2020. Method. This research is a descriptive observational study with cross-sectional study design using secondary data (medical records) of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma at Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang 1 June 2016 – 1 June 2020 who met the inclusion criteria. Result. From 48 samples, 18 samples (37,5%) suffered from a moderate degree of deafness. NPC patients mostly had conductive hearing loss (72,9%). The majority of NPC patients had already been in stage IV (70,8%). It was found that NPC patients with stage IV suffered the most from conductive hearing loss (79,4%) Conclusion. NPC patients from 1 June 2016 – 1 June 2020 at the ENT-HN Department of Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang are mostly suffered from a moderate degree of deafness, conductive hearing loss, and had already been in stage IV.
