UJI INHIBISI INFUSA AKAR KAYU KUNING (Arcangelisia flava) TERHADAP ENZIM α-GLUKOSIDASE
Yellow root (Arcangelisia flava) is a traditional medicinal plant which has a lot of benefits for treating various diseases, one of them is Diabetes mellitus. The phytochemical contents on the yellow root are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids. This study aimed to determine the potential of yellow root infusion on inhibiting α-glucosidase enzyme because people usually use these medicinal plants by boiling them with water. This study was an in vitro experimental laboratory study using yellow wood roots which were extracted by water solvent and reacted by α-glucosidase enzyme. The inhibitory effect on α-glucosidase enzyme was determined from IC50 value. Based on phytochemical tests, yellow root infusion contained flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and terpenoids. IC50 value of yellow root infusion was 8,3122 ppm and categorized as very active on inhibiting α-glucosidase enzyme.
