Background: Heart disease in pregnant women are one of the causes of the highest morbidity and mortality in pregnancy and childbirth. Teamwork among multidiscipline include the anesthesiologist is needed to manage the labor. Comprehension data about the characteristics of pregnant women with heart disease is crucial. Methods: This study was an observational descriptive cross-sectional design using secondary data from medical records of patients with heart disease who underwent labor at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital. Results: There were 24 pregnant patients with heart disease, 0.58% of all deliveries. Hypertensive heart disease (33.3%), age 20-35 years (70.8%), high school education level (79.2%), antenatal examination>4 times (83.3%), multigravida (66.7% ), 37-41 weeks' gestation (45.8%), cesarean section (87.5%), general anesthesia (76.2%) and maternal death (8.3%). Conclusion: The incidence of pregnant women with heart diseases in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital at 0.58%. It takes proper and prompt examination and treatment to prevent maternal complications.
