Background: Lime mistloetoes (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) is a type of parasite that is included in the Loranthaceae family as a semiparasitic plant that has potential antibacterial compounds. Purpose: To determine the antibacterial activity of lime parasite (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) against Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 13313 in vitro. Methods: This in vitro true experimental laboratory study used a post-test only control group designed. Lime mistloetoes extraction using the maceration method. The lime mistloetoes fraction used the Liquid-Liquid Fractionation method. Lime mistloetoes was tested for antibacterial activity using the well diffusion method with Nutrient Agar test media. The extract and fraction were selected based on the greatest inhibition zone, followed by the MIC test. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS version 25. Results: 96% ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction had a larger inhibition zone than the n-hexane and ethanol-water fractions with an inhibition zone diameter of 7.93 ± 0.43 mm for 96% ethanol extract and 7.70 ± 0. 46 mm for ethyl acetate fraction. The MIC for the ethanol extract was 0.25%, while the MIC for the ethyl acetate fraction was 0.061%. Conclusion: Extract and fraction of lime mistloetoes (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.) Has antibacterial activity against Shigella dysenteriae ATCC 13313 in vitro. Keywords: Antibacterial, Extract, Fraction, Dendrophthoe pentandra, Shigella dysenteriae.
