Currently, the number of confirmed cases and deaths from COVID-19 continues. C-Reactive Protein is a protein released in the acute phase of inflammation, and measuring its concentration is easy and cost-effecttive and can be used to predict a patient’s prognosis.. This study aims to analyze the role of C-Reactive Protein levels as a predictor of COVID-19 patient mortality so that clinicians may improve on patient management to prevent disease progression or death. This study is an analytic, observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample used in this study was all medical records of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in the period of May 1st – July 31st of 2020 at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. The data that were used include patient’s characteristics and C-Reactive Protein levels with a total of 131 samples. The data was analyzed using a ROC Curve analysis to determine the Cut-Off Point C-Reactive Proteins levels, and a chi-square test was performed to determine the correlation between C-Reactive Protein levels and patient death. The results are considered significant if p value < 0.05. The results show from 131 patients comfirmed that 27 patients died and 104 patients survived. The cut-off point for C-Reactive Protein levels was 67 mg/L. There was a strong correlation between C-Reactive Protein levels and COVID-19 patient deaths, with p value < 0,05. C-Reactive Protein levels > 67 mg/L increase the prevalence of patient death by a factor of 8.462. There is a strong correlation between C-Reactive Protein levels and patient deaths, therefore C-Reactive Protein levels may be used as a predictor of COVID-19 patient mortality. Key Words: C-Reactive Protein, COVID-19 patient mortality
