HUBUNGAN ANTARA DERAJAT KEPARAHAN AKNE VULGARIS DAN KUALITAS HIDUP MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Background. Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammation of pilosebaceous follicles characterized by comedones, papules, pustules, nodes and cysts with the most common predilection area on the face, back, chest and shoulders. Acne vulgaris not only affects physical appearance but also affects physchological aspects. This study aims to determine the correlation between severity of acne vulgaris and quality of life in medical students of UNSRI. Method. This study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The samples were medical students of UNSRI who meet the inclusion criteria and obtained using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected in the form of age, gender, severity of acne vulgaris and quality of life using questionnaire. Result. There were 82 samples consisted of 20 male (24,4%) and 62 female (75,6%). The mean age of the sample was 20,65 years (±0,961). Most of the samples had mild severity of acne vulgaris of 74,4%, followed by moderate severity of acne vulgaris (24,4%) and severe acne vulgaris severity (1,2%). The results of quality of life showed no effect at all in 21 samples (25,6%), small effect in 33 samples (40,2%), moderate effect in 17 samples (20,7%), very large effect in 10 samples (12,2%) and extremely large effect in 1 sample (1,2%).
