Sintesis Komposit Kitosan-Silika-Magnetit Untuk Menyerap Zat Warna Metilen Biru

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang sintesis komposit kitosan-silika-magnetit dan digunakan untuk menyerap zat warna metilen biru. Material hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi menggunakan spektrofotometer FTIR, XRD, dan SEM-EDS. Hasil sintesis FTIR kitosan didapatkan gugus fungsi O-H, C-H, -NH, C-O, C=O. sedangkan pada komposit kitosan-silika-magnetit bertambahnya gugus fungsi Si-O dan Fe-O. Difraktogram XRD menunjukkan magnetit dan komposit kitosan-silika-magnett berhasil disintesis dengan munculnya sudut difraksi magnetit pada 2θ 35,62° dan komposit kitosan-silikamagnetit muncul sudut difraksi pada 2θ di 20,69° yang menunjukkan keadaan amorf. Hasil SEM-EDS menunjukkan permukaan komposit kitosan-silika-magnetit yang berpori dan tak teratur dengan unsur penyusun C (20,92%), N (27,49%), O (40,91%), Si (5,72%), dan Fe (2,61%). Nilai pHpzc kitosan 7,98 dan komposit kitosan-silikamagnetit 7,25. Kondisi optimum penyerapan metilen biru oleh komposit kitosan-silikamagnetit diperoleh pada waktu kontak 40 menit dan berat komposit 0,05 g. Isoterm adsorpsi komposit kitosan-silika-magnetit cenderung mengikuti pola isoterm Langmuir dengan nilai regresi sebesar R2 = 0,996, KL = 2,253 dan Qm = 1,340.
