Post partum is a recovery period starting from the completion of labor until the uterine organs return to pre-pregnancy. The duration period is from 6 to 8 weeks. Breastfeeding is a natural event for a woman. However, breastfeeding problems that often arise in the early postpartum period (postpartum or lactation period) are breast swelling. Breast swelling is a dam of milk due to the narrowing of the laxative duct or by glands that are not completely emptied. One of the physiological problems that postpartum mothers always experience is pain due to the breast swelling. A nursing intervention that can be given to lower the scale of breast swelling pain is a cold compress of cabbage leaves. This final scientific paper aimed to apply cold compresses of cabbage leaves to patients having swollen breasts. The method used qualitative research with a case study approach of 3 postpartum patients. A cold compress of cabbage leaves is one of the most efficient non-pharmacological treatments to reduce breast swelling. Cabbage (Brassica Oleracea var. Capitata) is an economical vegetable that is very easy to find. It contains the amino acid glutamine, which is believed to treat all types of inflammation, one of which is inflammation that occurs in the breasts. Cold compresses of cabbage leaves can lower the pain scale of the three postpartum patients.
