Background: Vector-borne diseases such as dengue fever continue to pose significant public health challenges in Palembang. The breeding of mosquito vectors is influenced not only by environmental conditions but also by the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of sanitation workers. This study aimed to describe potential water-holding containers serving as mosquito breeding sites, determine larval counts and density, identify larval genera, and assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of sanitation workers regarding mosquito breeding in tourist areas of Palembang. Method: This study employed a qualitative descriptive design. The research sample consisted of all mosquito larvae and water-holding containers (potential breeding sites) identified at the study location. Informants were selected through purposive sampling. Data on the sanitation workers’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices concerning mosquito breeding were collected via in-depth interviews. Result: Seven water containers were identified, two of which (28.57%) were positive for mosquito larvae, all located outdoors, with a total of 13 larvae belonging to the Culex genus. The larval indices indicated a larva-free environment, with an ABJ of 100.00%, HI of 0.00%, and CI of 0.00%. Sanitation workers demonstrated good knowledge and attitudes toward vector control, although some had not fully understood the 3M Plus concept. Conclusion: The Bukit Siguntang Archaeological Park environment was found to be largely free of mosquito larvae. However, the detection of Culex larvae outdoors underscores the need for continued vigilance and the reinforcement of 3M Plus educational initiatives.
