EFEK HIDROKSIAPATIT SISIK IKAN GABUS (Channa striata) TERHADAP JUMLAH OSTEOBLAS TIKUS WISTAR
Background: The regeneration of alveolar bone sockets after a tooth extraction has limited reparative ability and usually involves changes in alveolar bone dimensions due to bone resorption. The hydroxyapatite (HAp) of snakehead fish scales is one of the bone graft materials that has osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties for osteoblast cells, so it can be used as the preservation of post-tooth extraction alveolar bone sockets. Objective: To determine the effect of snakehead fish scale HAp on the number of alveolar bone osteoblasts in wistar rats after a tooth extraction. Methods: This study is an in vivo laboratory experiment, single blind, with post test only control group design. A total of 32 male wistar rats were divided into 4 groups and extracted the mandibular left incisor. The sockets in the treatment group were treated with snakehead fish scale HAp bone graft, while the sockets in the control group were treated with aquadest. The socket tissues were taken on day 14 and day 21, then histological preparations were made to count the number of osteoblast cells and statistically analyzed. Results: The Independent T-test showed that the number of osteoblast cells was significantly higher in the treatment group compared to the control group on day 14 and day 21 (p
