Background:Anemia in pregnancy is a condition characterized by low hemoglobin levels, commonly caused by increased plasma volume and inadequate iron intake. Globally, the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women reaches 38.2%, while in Indonesia it is 48.9%. This condition increases the risk of obstetric complications as well as fetal growth and developmental disorders. Iron supplementation is the primary approach to prevent and manage anemia during pregnancy. This study aims to determine the pattern of iron supplement use among pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia at Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang during the period of January 1–December 31, 2024. Methods: Descriptive study employed a drug utilization pattern design and was conducted at Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang from July to August 2025 using secondary data from medical records. Samples were obtained through total sampling, resulting in 53 records that met the inclusion criteria. Data were processed using SPSS version 24.0 for Windows and analyzed univariately, presented in frequency distribution tables. Results: The prevalence of pregnant women with anemia at Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang was 18.5%. Among 53 patients, most had mild anemia (52,8%), were in the non-risk age group (71,7%), nulliparous (35,6%), multigravida (67,9%), and in the third trimester (58,5%). Appropriateness of indication, dosage, frequency interaction and contraindication were all 100%. Conclusion: The use of iron supplements among pregnant women with anemia at Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang was appropriate based on the criteria for rational drug use.
