Nationally, South Sumatera and Riau are the main contributors to the plantation sector. South Sumatra is ranked third for palm oil and rubber production, while Riau leads as the largest palm oil producer in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the comparative advantages, level of specialization and distribution level of plantation crops in the regency/city areas of South Sumatra Province and Riau Province. The data used is secondary data during the period 2013-2022. The methods used are Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Specialization Index (IS), and Localization Index. The results of the study show that South Sumatra Province has a comparative advantage over rubber and coffee plants. Meanwhile, Riau Province only has a comparative advantage in oil palm plants. Both provinces have areas that specialize in plantation crops, while the distribution level for each plantation crop in each region in South Sumatra Province and Riau Province is different.
