This study aims to analyse the effect of community participation in the management of the Village Forest Programme (PHD) on the welfare of the community in Muara Danau Village, Semende Darat Laut Subdistrict, Muara Enim Regency. This study uses a descriptive and associative quantitative approach with a sample taken using simple random sampling techniques of 55 respondents who are members of the PHD. Data collection was conducted through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, which were then analysed using Spearman Rank correlation analysis, Kendal Tau correlation analysis, and Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) analysis with the help of SPSS 22 and SmartPLS 4.1.1.2 software. The results of the analysis showed that overall community participation was in the moderate category, but the dimensions of planning, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation were in the low category, while the dimension of enjoying the results was in the highest category. Meanwhile, the level of community welfare was also in the moderate category, but most of its dimensions, such as income, education, health, and information technology utilisation, were still classified as low to very low, while the housing dimension showed the highest value. The results of the three inferential analyses showed that community participation in PHD management only had a partial effect on the level of community welfare, not a comprehensive one. These findings indicate that community participation in PHD management cannot yet be used as a major factor in determining the level of community welfare in Muara Danau Village.
