The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-control and academic procrastination among students. The approach used in this research is quantitative with correlational research type. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and academic procrastination of guidance and counseling students at Sriwijaya University. The population in this study consisted of 367 students consisting of 4 batches, namely: batch 2021 - 2024. The sample withdrawal in this study used proportionate stratified random sampling technique to determine a sample of members or elements that were not homogeneous and proportionally stratified, with the results of the research sample totaling 191 students. The instruments used in this study are self-control scales and academic procrastination. The results of the analysis show that the level of academic procrastination behavior is in the moderate category with a percentage of 67% (128 students) and self-control is in the moderate category with a percentage of 74.3% (142 students). In hypothesis testing, the correlation coefficient result of -0.760 and significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) indicate a negative and significant relationship between self-control and academic procrastination. This means that individuals with high self-control tend to have low levels of academic procrastination, while individuals with low self-control tend to have high levels of academic procrastination. These findings highlight the importance of increasing self-awareness and self-control skills as efforts to reduce procrastination in the academic field.
