This study aims to analyze how the online media Detik.com framed President Prabowo Subianto’s policy on the efficiency of the education budget during the period of February 10–27, 2025. The policy has sparked public debate due to its potential impact on the quality and equity of education in Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using the framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, which consists of four structural dimensions: syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical. Data were collected through documentation of 14 news articles published by Detik.com discussing the issue of education budget efficiency. The results indicate that Detik.com framed the policy by highlighting two dominant aspects: public concern about the possible negative effects of budget efficiency on education quality and the government’s commitment to reallocating funds to other strategic sectors. The framing emphasized a critical yet balanced perspective, combining humanistic narratives with expert and public opinions. This approach reflects Detik.com’s role as an agent in constructing social reality and shaping public discourse on national education policy.
