Parenting plays a very important role in determining the fulfillment of toddler nutrition which affects their growth and development. This study aims to determine the description of parenting patterns and nutritional status of toddlers from working and non-working mothers in Koto Tangah District, Padang City. This study used a descriptive method with in-depth interviews with 10 mothers of toddlers, 5 working and 5 non-working mothers each, as well as 10 supporting informants and 1 nutritionist. The results of the study showed variations in parenting patterns, frequency, and diversity of food given to toddlers. Toddlers from working mothers tend to have irregular meal schedules, and more limited food variations. In contrast, toddlers from non-working mothers generally receive more frequent and varied food. Some toddlers show nutritional problems such as underweight, short height (stunting), and lack of other nutritional intakes. Working mothers often face challenges in dividing their time between work and family, which has the potential to reduce attention to fulfilling toddler nutrition. Based on these findings, efforts are needed to increase awareness and knowledge about the importance of good parenting patterns in fulfilling children's nutrition, especially for working mothers, to prevent nutritional problems in toddlers by seeking information on fulfilling toddler nutrition and participating in nutritional education from nutrition officers. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for related parties in improving nutrition and health programs for toddlers.
