The Borang River is a river that crosses the Banyuasin district and Palembang City. The Borang River in the upper part gets its supply from the Musi river. In the upper part of the Borang river there are fishing activities. Meanwhile, the downstream part flows into the Borang Island strait. In the lower part of the Borang river, there are resident activities such as toilets (bathing, washing and toileting), fishing and transportation. These various activities can result in exposure to toxic content or poisonous substances into river bodies. This can also have an impact on aquatic biota and human health if consumed. The Borang River area, South Sumatra allows various types of fish to live and breed, however research on the types of fish in the Borang river area has never been reported so it is necessary to carry out research by inventorying what types of fish are found in the Borang river area. The results of research carried out regarding the inventory of fish species in the Borang River showed that there were 12 types of fish belonging to 9 families. The Cyprinidae family is the most commonly caught species, namely 4 types of fish. Keywords: Borang river, Fish, Inventory.
