This report explores the workflow and procedures involved in the budgeting process at the Department of Trade, South Sumatra Province, which plays a vital role in regional financial management. The study was conducted through a two-month internship program, focusing on the stages of planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the budget. The process adheres to the applicable regulations and utilizes the Regional Government Information System of the Republic of Indonesia (SIPD-RI) to ensure integrated, transparent, and efficient data management. Based on observations, despite the system operating in accordance with established rules, challenges remain—particularly discrepancies between allocated budgets and actual needs in the field. The budgeting process adopts a performance-based approach, emphasizing transparency, accountability, efficiency, and broad stakeholder participation.
