THE STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS ON USING GRAMMARLY-AI WRITING ASSISTENT-AI WRITING ASSISTANT IN LEARNING ENGLISH GRAMMAR AT SRIWIJAYA UNIVERSITY
ABSTRACT This study describes the perceptions of fourth-semester students in the English Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University regarding the use of Grammarly-AI Writing Assistant in English grammar learning. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected from 95 students through a Likert-scale questionnaire covering eight dimensions. The results show that the majority of students have positive perceptions and report an increase in grammatical awareness and the ability to identify errors without excessive dependence. Grammarly-AI Writing Assistant has been proven to be effective in supporting grammar learning by increasing students' grammatical awareness and digital literacy. These findings provide insights for integrating AI-based writing assistants into English language teaching in higher education.
