Dyspepsia is a condition of discomfort and pain in the solar plexus or upper abdomen. It is caused by dietary and environmental factors, such as gastric acid secretion, gastric motor function, gastric visceral perception, psychology, and Helicobacter pylori infection. In the process of therapy, antacids remain the choice for the treatment of GERD and dyspepsia due to their ability to relieve symptoms quickly and effectively. There is a previous study on the pattern of antacid use in patients with dyspepsia syndrome at the Pisangan Health Center in Tangerang City. This study aims to determine the pattern of antacid use in patients with dyspepsia syndrome, which includes sociodemographic factors (patient gender and age), dose, frequency of administration, duration of administration, and drug interactions. Drug utilization study research conducted at the Sekip Palembang Health Center from 4th of September 2024 to 20th of September 2024. There were 82 out of 136 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The sampling method used total sampling technique. The entire data was analyzed using SPSS v27 in tabular form. General criteria for dyspepsia syndrome patients include female gender (69.5%), age group 46-55 tahun dan 56-64 years (41.4%). Based on the characteristics of the right dose (100%), the right frequency of administration (100%), the right duration of administration (100%), and antagonistic (18.3%) and potentiating (7.3%) drug interactions occurred.The rational use of antacids based on the criteria of the right dose (100%), the right frequency of administration (100%), the right duration of administration (100%), the right method of administration (100%), and antagonistic (18.3%) and potentiating (7.3%) drug interactions occurred.
