VII ABSTRACT Christhofer Sepnorap Sitompul, 08051381924065. Analysis of Mangrove Soil Carbon Stock Estimation in the Southern Part of Sembilang National Park, South Sumatra. (Supervisors : Fitri Agustriani, S.Pi., M.Si and Prof. Dr. Fauziyah, S.Pi) Sembilang National Park is located in the eastern coastal area of South Sumatra Province. The existence of mangroves in Sembilang National Park is the largest wetland ecosystem in South Sumatra. Indirectly, the benefits of mangrove ecosystems are able to absorb CO₂ in the atmosphere and stored in the form of biomass, one of which is in sediments. This study aims to analyze and determine the type of substrate for carbon stock storage of biomass under mangrove species ranging from 0 cm to 50 cm below the mangrove surface. The research was conducted in June 2023. Sampling was carried out in Sembilang National Park. Sediment samples were taken with the aim of analyzing organic carbon, substrate type and measurement of water parameters. The results of the study of clay water substrate type ranged from 85.923% - 94.089%. The highest value of organic C- content and carbon estimation is found in station 1 Bruguiera parviflora mangrove species with an average value of 13.27% and 59.16% respectively, while the lowest organic C- content at station 4 Bruguiera parviflora mangrove species with an average of 6.02% and the lowest carbon estimation at station 5 Bruguiera parviflora mangrove species with an average value of 27.59% and the average overall carbon estimation value 36,18%. Keywords: Mangrove, Organic Carbon, Sembilang National Park.
