Anesthesia is the use of medication to prevent the feeling of pain or other sensations during surgery or procedures that may be painful. About 83% of the world's population lives in countries with poor or no access to pain management. CPOT is a reliable method for assessing pain in ICU patients. This study aims to determine the pain profile of post-anesthesia patients using the Critical Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT) method in the RSMH ICU in July 2024. The specific objective of this study is to identify the demographic and clinical characteristics and to observe the pain experienced by patients. This study uses a descriptive observational method with a cross-sectional design. The data obtained are primary data from post-anesthesia patients in the ICU of RSMH in July 2024 who meet the inclusion criteria. The sampling technique was total sampling, with a total of 57 patients as research subjects. The majority of patients were aged 41-60 years, with 27 patients (47.32%), and the gender was predominantly female (50.88%). Most patients had a GCS between 9-12 (56.14%), and all patients received general anesthesia (100%). The majority of patients had medical diagnoses of surgery and trauma (52.63%). All patients received opioid analgesics in the form of morphine and fentanyl (100%) and had surgery lasting more than 2 hours (100%). The majority of pain assessments were conducted 6 hours post-ICU admission (61.40%), and patients experienced mild pain (52.63%). The pain profile of patients post-anesthesia during the period of July 2024 shows an optimal condition, indicating that the pain management provided has been effective. It is important to continue regular pain monitoring and implement optimal pain management, especially for patients with varying levels of pain severity and longer surgery durations.
