Traffic accidents are unexpected or unintentional road events involving vehicles and other road users that cause human casualties and property damage. The death rate due to traffic accidents in South Sumatra continues to increase. This study aims to determine the pattern of wounds on the corpses of traffic accident cases based on the results of VeR and death certificates at the Forensic Installation and Body Retrieval of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. The type of research used was descriptive observational research. The type of data in this study is secondary data sourced from Visum et Repertum and death certificates examined at the Forensic and Funeral Installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the period January 2019 - December 2023. Deaths due to traffic accidents were dominated by males (76.8%) aged 26-45 years (45.3%), with the majority working as private employees (31.6%) and being motorcycle riders (85.3%), the type of injury pattern experienced was abrasions (91.6%) and occurred in the head and neck (94.7%). The characteristics of traffic accident death victims at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang were found to most often occurred in men, adult age groups, occupations as private employees, types of abrasion patterns, and the location of injuries in the head and neck.
