PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PUPUK UREA DENGAN DOSIS YANG BERBEDA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI BIOMASSA Tetraselmis chuii SKALA LABORATORIUM
Tetraselmis chuii is one type of microalgae that has prospective as an alternative source of potential renewable energy raw materials such as biodiesel. The availability of sufficient nutrient sources such as nitrogen as well as the regulation of microalgae culture environmental factors are very important to achieve optimal microalgae cell growth and maximum biomass production. This study aims to see the effect of urea application with different doses on the growth of T. chuii biomass production and the right fertilizer composition for laboratory-scale culture of T. chuii. The research method used was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (RAL) with 5 treatments of different urea concentrations (0 mg/L, 25 mg/L, 50 mg/L, 75 mg/L, and 100 mg/L) and 3 repetitions with the addition of fertilizer doses of ZA 30 mg/L and TSP 10 mg/L for each treatment. Data on cell density and cell growth rate of T. chuii were analyzed with One Way ANOVA test at α = 5% level. The results showed that the application of urea with different doses influenced the growth rate and biomass production of T. chuii. The results of data analysis showed that urea concentration of 100 mg/L was the optimal fertilizer dose combination with a maximum cell density of 577 × 104 cells/ml on day 7, with a growth rate of 0,24 cells/mL/day, as well as the shortest cell doubling time of 2,9 days, and biomass production reaching 440,83 gr/m³/day.
