Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a disorder of the heart and blood vessels, in the form of narrowing of the coronary blood vessels which causes a lack of blood flow to the heart and reduces heart function. Risk factors for CHD include older age and more males than females. Other risk factors underlying the development of CHD are abnormalities in the lipid profile, such as increased levels of triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, and decreased HDL cholesterol. This study aims to determine the effect of lipid profile on the incidence of coronary heart disease in patients of Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. This study used an analytical observational research with a cross-sectional study design. The analysis was carried out by univariate and bivariate analysis to see the effect of lipid profiles on the incidence of coronary heart disease. Based on research from 74 samples, the majority of CHD patients aged of 40-60 years, and the gender that most experienced CHD was male. The results of bivariate analysis using the Chi square test showed the influence of normal triglycerides with the incidence of UAP type CHD (p=0,035). The results of the Chi square test analysis showed the effect of normal – high HDL cholesterol with the incidence of UAP type CHD (p=0,026). The results of the Fisher’s exact test analysis showed an effect of normal LDL cholesterol with the incidence of NSTEMI type CHD (p=0,008), and the Chi square test analysis showed an effect of normal LDL cholesterol on the incidence of UAP type CHD (p=0,028). The results of the Fisher’s exact test analysis showed the influence of high total cholesterol with the incidence of STEMI type CHD (p=0,040). Keywords Coronary Heart Disease, Lipid Profile.
