Background: Information of survival and mortality rates is crucial, especially for ovarian cancer cases, one of the most common cancer among women. Despite the importance, that information was very limited in Palembang. Despite the high incidence of ovarian cancer, information regarding survival and mortality rates, particularly in Palembang, remains very limited. Therefore, researching about it is relevant, not only to find the latest state of survival and mortality rate in Palembang, but also to support development of future treatments and also an important reference for research. Methods: This study is a descriptive research aimed at evaluating the survival and mortality rates of ovarian cancer patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from 2021 to 2023. The study population includes all ovarian cancer patients recorded in the hospital's medical records. The research sample consists of patients who were first diagnosed between January 2021 and December 2023 and met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results are presented in tables and narrative form. Results: This study involved 51 samples of ovarian cancer. The research at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from 2021 to 2023 showed a mortality rate of 21.6% and a survival rate of 78.4%. Among patients aged ≤65 years, the survival rate was 79.2% with a mortality rate of 20.8%, while in patients aged >65 years, the survival rate was 66.7% and the mortality rate was 33.3%. Based on cancer stages, stage I had a survival rate of 90.9% and a mortality rate of 9.1%; stage II had a survival rate of 75% and a mortality rate of 25%; stage III had a survival rate of 70.8% and a mortality rate of 29.2%; and stage IV showed a survival rate of 83.3% and a mortality rate of 16.7%. Most patients (75%) had epithelial ovarian cancer, with a survival rate of 83.3% and a mortality rate of 16.7%. Non-epithelial types showed a survival rate of 66.7% and a mortality rate of 33.3%. Patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy had a survival rate of 79.2% and a mortality rate of 20.8%. In contrast, patients who underwent primary debulking surgery recorded a 100% mortality rate, with no survivors. On the other hand, the combination of primary debulking surgery and neoadjuvant chemotherapy showed a 100% survival rate, with no deaths recorded. Conclusion: From 2021 to 2023, RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang recorded a survival rate of 78.4% for ovarian cancer patients, while the mortality rate was 21.6%. Keywords: Ovarian Cancer, survival rate, mortality rate.
