Handling of cardiac arrest victims outside the hospital by lay rescuers (bystanders) is still very low. Las rescuers, including students, often do not perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation when they find cardiac arrest victims. One of the causes is the low itention to perform CPR. The purpose of this study was to determine the dominant factors that influence the intention to perform CPR in students at Sriwijaya University. The method used in this study was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach using a questionnaire on the intention of Sriwijaya University students to perform CPR. The sampling used cluster sampling and accidental sampling. The number of respondents was 400 Sriwijaya University students. The results of univariable analysis showed that respondents who did not participate in CPR training were 342 respondents (85,5%), positive attitudes were 231 respondents (57,8%), positive subjective norms were 234 respondents (58,5%), negative perception of control was 205 respondents (51,2%), and positive intentions were 203 respondents (50,7%). The results of the Chi Square statistical test showed a relationship between attitude and intention (p value = 0.000), a relationship between subjective norms and intentions (p value = 0.000), and a relationship between perceived control and intentions (p value = 0.000). The results multivariate analysis using multiple reggresion analysis showed that the subjective norm factor are the factor most related to the intention to perform CPR. Students will have the intention to perform CPR if they have positive motivation to meet the expectations of those around them.
