BIODIVERSITAS SUMBERDAYA PERIKANAN DEMERSAL HASIL TANGKAPAN BOTTOM GILLNET “JARING KEPITING” DI PERAIRAN BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN
The condition of biodiversity in Banyuasin waters must be maintained from fishing activities which have an impact on reducing the value of fisheries biodiversity in the area. This research is focused on determining the biodiversity value of fish caught using bottom gillnet fishing gear in Banyuasin waters which is correlated with environmental parameters. From the bottom gillnet catch, 11 families and 11 species were found. The main catch species was Portunus pelagicus with a composition of 268 individuals (22.70%) and an abundance of 33,500 ind/ha. The highest species composition in bycatch was Cynoglossus lingua with 27 individuals (2.30%) and an abundance of 3,375 individuals/ha. The highest species composition of discarded catches was Coenobita rugosus with 367 individuals (31.20%) and an abundance of 45,875 ind/ha. The biodiversity index (H') value of the Bottom Gillnet catch ranges between 1.68-1.85 in the medium category, the uniformity index (E') value ranges from 0.70-0.77 in the high category and the dominance index (C) value ranges from 0.20-0.22 in the low category. This shows that the biodiversity value at the research location is in a stable condition and no species dominates. The environmental parameter that influences the diversity and uniformity values is temperature, while the parameter that influences the dominance value is pH.
