PENGARUH PERSEPSI MAHASISWA TENTANG PROGRAM PPG TERHADAP MINAT MENJADI GURU PADA MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN EKONOMI FKIP UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) is designed to prepare the undergraduates to become professional teachers. Since the enactment of Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers, an educator certificate is a mandatory requirement to become a teacher. Based on these regulations, students' perceptions of this program may affect their interest in becoming teachers. This research aims to determine the effect on student perceptions about the PPG program in becoming a teacher among Economic Education students at FKIP Sriwijaya University. This research is causal associative research with some participants of the 2020-2023 FKIP Sriwijaya University Economic Education student population. The research sample consists of 152 students selected using Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique used is simple regression. The research hypothesis was tested using a t-test, and the results showed that tcount (13.34) > ttable (1.655), meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that students' perceptions of the PPG program have a positive and significant effect on their interest in becoming teachers. Some suggestions for consideration to improve further research are expanding the sample range and examining more diverse variables such as students' perceptions of the teaching profession, the influence of family environment, or self-efficacy on the interest in becoming a teacher, in order to obtain more comprehensive results or data. Keywords : perceptions about the ppg program, interest in becoming teacher
