The aim of the research was to determine the performance of the sliding blade in several material position conditions, namely the angle of inclination of the material and the fibers of the cassava. The research condueted from 03 June 2024 until completion at the Agricultural Machinery and Workshop Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya Indralaya University. The study of the research results obtained from the observation and testing stages used a descriptive method, as a method to explain the causal relationship of the influence of the treatment of the position of the cutting angle and cassava fiber on the working capacity and weight of the sliced chips. Testing the cutting treatment against the grain (A1) resulted in an effective working capacity of 9.15 kg/jam. which was greater than the cutting treatment in the direction of the grain (A2), namely 7.28 kg/jam. From the observations, the two treatments produced different chip weights, namely 2.46 g (A1) and 1.96 g (A2). Another independent variable observed through this research is the slope angle treatment of the material used. Chopping cassava at an inclination angle of 450 (B2) produces an effective working capacity of 9.78 kg/jam, which is greater than the effective working capacity produced by cassava with an inclination angle of 150 (B1) which is 6,65 kg/jam. The difference between the two treatments of the slope angle of the material is due to the different cut surface areas, namely for a slope angle of 450 (B2) the surface area is 9.989 cm2 , which is greater than cassava with a slope angle of 150 (B1) which is 7.231 cm2. so it can also affect the chip weight of each treatment, namely 2.63 g (B2) and 2.14 g (B1). Keywords: Working capacity, efficiency, tilt angle, fiber direction, chip weight
