PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN KAMPUNG VERTIKAL PADA KAWASAN TEPIAN SUNGAI MUSI.
5 Ulu Village, located on the banks of the Musi River, faces issues of population density and disorganized settlements, creating an urgent need for adequate, comfortable, and safe housing. Communal spaces are also required to support the social interactions of residents who frequently gather for conversations. The Vertical Village concept is proposed as a solution to these issues of density and inadequate housing. The transformation of the existing village into a vertical format is expected to reduce land use while preserving the village atmosphere. The design of the Vertical Village maintains communal spaces and circulation patterns similar to those in riverside houses to attract residents to relocate. The building adopts a stilt house system to anticipate river water level changes. The ground floor serves as a gathering place, communal space, shops, administrative rooms, and generator rooms. Considering the high social engagement of 5 Ulu residents, numerous communal spaces are provided to accommodate daily activities. Buildings are connected by bridges to facilitate socialization and maintain a village atmosphere, with vertical split-level circulation to bring neighbors closer together.
