ANALISIS KESESUAIAN RELATIVE BULK STRENGTH MENGGUNAKAN BAHAN PELEDAK LOW DENSITY BERDASARKAN BLASTABILITY INDEX DI PIT BENDILI, PT KALTIM PRIMA COAL
PT Kaltim Prima Coal uses blasting method in the interburden removal process. Blasting is declared successful if the fragmentation and digging rate produced meet the reference standards, which is related to the use of powder factor. To reduce the powder factor but still produce optimal blasting, PT Kaltim Prima Coal applies the use of low density explosives that can be varied and adjusted in energy in each blasting area based on the relative bulk strength (RBS) classification. In this research, the condition of rock structure is mapped based on parameter blasttability index in three interburden of Bendili Pit, namely B2, BN, and PR. Data processing uses the Kuzram – Cunningham method to obtain the fragmentation plan and determine the appropriate RBS value in each interburden. Based on the analysis results, the appropriate RBS in B2 and BN interburden is 130, but in PR interburden the appropriate RBS has not been obtained. After the results of the trials conducted on the B2 interburden, the fragmentation size ≤ 30 cm was 86.13% and the digging rate was 5,204 BCM/hour and the BN interburden fragmentation size ≤ 30 cm was 87.38% and the digging rate was 5601 BCM/hour. From the test results, the actual fragmentation and digging rate have met the reference standard of PT Kaltim Prima Coal. This proves that the use of low density explosives with an RBS value of 130 in B2 and BN interburden is suitable for use in the Bendili Pit of PT Kaltim Prima Coal.
