PENGARUH PERUBAHAN TUTUPAN LAHAN TERHADAP EMISI GAS RUMAH KACA DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Climate change is indicated to be occurring due to rising air temperatures, drought, and an increase in extreme climate events. Increased greenhouse gas emissions are one of the factors in global climate change. Land cover change is one of the biggest factors in increasing greenhouse gas emissions. The conversion of building land functions has an impact on the reduction of green open land, where green open land plays an important role in absorbing CO2. Indonesia itself has guidelines for calculating the amount of greenhouse gas emissions, which refers to the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Palembang City has high dynamics of land cover change and activities. This has the potential to increase greenhouse gas emissions, so an inventory of land cover changes and regular updates of land cover types are needed. Analysis of land cover data and data classification from 2018-2022 in Palembang City using guidelines from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Next is the preparation of the 2018-2022 land use transition matrix, and carbon stock analysis and emission calculation using the gain-loss method. Based on the results of the analysis, greenhouse gas emissions generated by Palembang City from the land sector between 2018-2019 amounted to -135,176 gigagrams (Gg Co2e), 2019-2020 amounted to 136,891 gigagrams (Gg Co2e), 2020-2021 amounted to -136,186 gigagrams (Gg Co2e), and the last year 2021-2022 amounted to -129.25 gigagrams (Gg Co2e).
