Background : Breast milk is the primary food for infants, providing essential macronutrients, such as fat, needed for the baby's development. The fat content in breast milk is influenced by various factors, including the age and nutritional status of the breastfeeding mother. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the age and nutritional status of breastfeeding mothers and the fat content in breast milk. Methods : This research used an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach conducted at the Basic Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University, from July to November 2024. The sample consisted of 54 breastfeeding mothers in Palembang City who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data on maternal age and nutritional status were collected, and the fat content in breast milk was measured using the GPO-PAP method. Data were analyzed using the Chi Square test. Results : The average fat content in breast milk from breastfeeding mothers was 4,0±0,9 g/dL. Based on the Chi Square test, there was no significant relationship between the age of the mother and the fat content in breast milk (p=1,000), nor was there a significant relationship between the mother's nutritional status and the fat content in breast milk (p=0,785). Conclusion : There is no relationship between the age and nutritional status of breastfeeding mothers and the fat content in breast milk. Keywords : Breast milk, fat content, age, nutritional status
