This research aims to determine the age structure and abundance of decomposer insects found on the soil surface in the secondary forest of Unsri Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the pitfall trap and sieving method for sampling as well as a literature review to identify the type and role of decomposer insects. This research succeeded in collecting 342 individuals from five species, namely Solenopsis geminate, Solenopsis molesta, Pachycondyla crassinoda, Blaptinus sp, Macrotermes gilvus. Of the five species, the most frequently found species came from the Solenopsis molesta species with a total of 108 individuals and the least frequently found species came from the Blaptinus sp. with 1 individual. Based on the age structure, the largest population of decomposer insects was found in the imago phase, while the highest relative abundance value was Solenopsis molesta at 31.6% and the lowest relative abundance value was Blaptinus sp, at 0.30%. This research resulted in a research contribution in the form of a Class X SMA Biology LKPD for KD 3.9.
