SISTEM MONITORING UNTUK MENDETEKSI KEJATUHAN LANSIA BERBASIS INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) MENGGUNAKAN ANDROID
The elderly are a group of people who are vulnerable to falling incidents, which can have fatal impacts on their health and safety. Therefore, a system capable of detecting falls quickly and providing early warnings is needed. This research aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based fall monitoring system for the elderly using a NodeMCU ESP32 integrated with an Android application. The system utilizes gyroscope and accelerometer sensors placed on a belt to measure body angles (pitch and roll) as well as acceleration. The measurement data are transmitted in real time via a Wi-Fi connection to a database and then visualized on the Android application. When the body angle exceeds 60° and the acceleration is around 9.8 m/s², the system triggers a fall alarm notification. The test results show that the system is capable of detecting falls and sending notifications to the application in real time. Therefore, this system can serve as an effective solution to help monitor the condition of elderly individuals and enhance their safety in daily life.
