PENGARUH IKLIM KESELAMATAN PADA ANGKUTAN PENYEBERANGAN SUNGAI, DANAU, DAN PERAIRAN DI PELABUHAN TANJUNG API-API DAN TANJUNG KALIAN SUMATERA BAGIAN SELATAN
Indonesia is a maritime country comprising over 17,000 islands and is the second largest archipelagic country in the world after Canada. Transportation in Indonesia is divided into three main types: sea, land, and air transportation. The role of sea transportation is not only to facilitate the flow of goods and people but also to help improve the welfare and economy of a region. However, using sea transportation involves facing obstacles that can result in accidents. The causes of accidents are influenced by three factors: natural factors (nature error), human factors (human error) such as emergencies caused by human negligence, and technical factors (technical error) due to incorrect procedures for carrying out work on board a ship. This highlights the importance of a safety culture that must be understood by water crossing transport operators. This research aims to determine the safety climate for ferry transportation at the Tanjung Api-Api Port, located in the Tanjung Lago area of Banyuasin Regency. This port connects the South Sumatra Province with the Bangka Belitung Province. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used for analysis in this research. The SEM approach aims to determine the validity of a particular model. The research identified factors influencing companies in managing the safety climate of crossing transportation. These factors include transparency in communication affecting leadership, transparency in communication affecting management commitment, and leadership affecting trust in the organization.
