ANALISIS KETIMPANGAN WILAYAH SERTA PENGEMBANGAN SEKTOR UNGGULAN KAWASAN PATUNGRAYA AGUNG
In an effort to achieve the economic development objectives of Government Regulation No. 13 of 2017, various regions have been designated as National Strategic Areas (KSN), including the Patungraya Agung Metropolitan Area. This area consists of the city of Palembang, Betung District, Indralaya District, and Kayu Agung District, which are national priorities as strategic urban areas that serve as centers of regional growth in Sumatra. This study aims to analyze the level of economic development inequality and sectors that have economic development advantages in the Patungraya Agung Zone. This study was conducted using the Theil Entropy Index and Location Quotient Index analysis methods, with secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Regencies/Cities in South Sumatra Province for 2018-2022. Based on the results of Theil's Entropy, the highest inequality in the Patungraya Agung Region occurred in Palembang City, while other regions showed signs of equalization. The results of the Location Quotient (LQ) revealed differences in sectoral characteristics in each region within the Patungraya Agung Region. The leading sectors in Palembang City tended to be in the secondary and tertiary sectors, while the leading sectors in other regions tended to be in the primary sector. Keywords: Inequality, Leading Sectors, Economic Growth, Strategic Regions, Metropolitan Areas
