PATI RESISTEN DAN SIFAT PREBIOTIK Chlorella TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BAKTERI Lactobacillus rhamnosus
This study aims to determine the levels of resistant starch, its effectiveness as a prebiotic, and its effect on the growth of L. rhamnosus bacteria as well as to identify the potential antibacterial activity of L. rhamnosus bacteria grown on Chlorella by Now Foods media. The methods used include determining the levels of resistant starch using the multi-enzyme method, testing prebiotic activity by counting the number of bacterial colonies using the Total Plate Count (TPC) method, and observing antibacterial activity using the zone of inhibition method. The results showed that the levels of resistant starch in Chlorella were 18.56%, the prebiotic index was 1.137, and the prebiotic effect was 10.477. In addition, the suspension of L. rhamnosus grown on media containing Chlorella was able to inhibit the growth of E. coli with a clear zone of 16.5 mm and showed strong antibacterial activity. The conclusion of this study is that Chlorella by Now Foods has the potential as a source of resistant starch and a natural prebiotic that can support the growth of probiotics and has antibacterial activity.Further research on the identification of prebiotic molecules and in vivo research is recommended.
