Tanjung Pering Village has an area a plantation that produces vegetables and is one of the largest in Ogan Ilir District. Tanjung Pering Village is one of the Villages in Ogan Ilir Regency, where the majority of the population daily work as farmers and casual laborers. Tanjung Pering Village has an agricultural institution, namely (Gapoktan) combined farmer groups consisting of 10 farmer groups. Objective this researce are 1) Analyze the constraints of agricultural extension workers on the development of farmer groups. 2) Analyze the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of farmer groups. 3) Analyze the relationship between the role of agricultural extension workers and the development of farmer groups. This research was conducted in Tanjung Pering Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir District. Data collection was carried out in November 2022. The method used in this research is the survey method. An example of the withdrawal method in this study is the simple random method. The research results show that the role of agricultural extension workers in Tanjung Pering Village is quite or moderate. Based on the results of research on the role of extension workers as facilitator, innovators, motivators, dynamists, educators get an average score of 41,7 with low criteria, including the criteia of less role. Based on statistical tests using the SPSS tool, the relationship between extension agents as facilitators is quite significant between the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of farmer groups with a significant correlation coeficient of 0,532 meaning that it has a unidirectional correlation or a fairly close ralationship and is classified as moderate. While the extension worker as an educator is quite significant between the role of agricultural extension agents in the development of farmer groups whit a significant coefficient value of 0,638 meaning that it has a unidirectional corelation or a fairly close relations and is classified as moderate.
