PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN ISLAMIC CENTER PADA KOTA PAGAR ALAM DENGAN PENERAPAN PRINSIP ISLAM PADA ARSITEKTUR
An Islamic Center can be defined as a center for religious activities that not only functions as a place of worship, but also as a means for carrying out non-formal studies and education based on the principles of the Islamic religion, including da'wah, muamalah and piety. The planning and design of the Islamic Center in Pagar Alam City is based on the increasing need for a place that can fulfill the activities of Muslims, in line with the increasing number of Muslim residents in Pagar Alam City. Therefore, this design is aimed at providing an integrated forum that can accommodate all activities with Islamic nuances for all residents of the city of Pagar Alam, which is not only limited to worship activities. So, to achieve this goal, an approach is taken by applying Islamic principles to architecture, which is different from Islamic architecture which refers more to the typology of building shapes and design elements. The Islamic principles are efficiency, egalitarianism and local wisdom (Sativa 2011). These Islamic principles were then used as the main basis for the design of this Islamic Center which was used in the placement of the building on the site, circulation, spatial layout of the building, building facade, as well as the use of a modified baghi roof on the building.
