Self-burning or spontaneous combustion is the process of burning coal by itself, which begins with self-heating or self-heating that comes from the oxidation of a chemical reaction from the coal itself. This study aims to determine whether water content affects the temperature of coal combustion and also see the behaviour of water content in coal on the resulting coal temperature. This series of research includes several stages of testing including preparation and equipment at the stockpile location, testing the amount of water content in the laboratory and the data analysis process. In this study, 7 samples and locations of self-burning points were obtained with the data obtained including the independent variable of total moisture value, namely KAI sample 1 of 35.51%; KAI sample 2 of 39.47%; KAI sample 3 of 43.47%; KAI sample 4 of 40.47%; KAI sample 5 of 40.54%; KAI sample 6 of 42.35%; and KAI sample 7 of 41.48%. As for the dependent variable in the form of self-burning temperature, it is as follows, KAI sample 1 is worth 59.340C; KAI 2 is 57.290C; KAI 3 is worth 52.630C; KAI 4 is worth 53.010C; KAI 5 is worth 450C; KAI 6 is worth 50.280C; and KAI 7 is 43.750C. The results of correlation and regression using SPSS software version 25 there is a negative and significant correlation with an R value of 0.163 with a simple liner regression equation model Y = 105.184 - 1.324X1. From this study it is concluded that the water content has a negative effect on the self-burning temperature, the higher the water content, the lower the temperature produced and vice versa, the lower the water content, the temperature also rises.
