VARIASI POLA SKELETAL PADA PASIEN ORTODONTI RSKGM PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) states that malocclusion ranks third among the most common oral health problems after dental caries and periodontal disease. The global prevalence of malocclusion among children and adolescents is 56%, with no significant gender differences. Objective: To determine the variation of skeletal patterns in orthodontic patients at RSKGM, South Sumatra Province. Methods: This was a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The research population consisted of 49 secondary cephalometric radiograph data using total sampling technique. Data were obtained by calculating ANB angles using Steiner analysis. Results: The variation of skeletal patterns among orthodontic patients at RSKGM, South Sumatra Province, showed that 22 patients (44.9%) had skeletal Class I patterns, 14 patients (28.6%) had skeletal Class II patterns, and 13 patients (26.5%) had skeletal Class III patterns. The SNA value was predominantly in the protrusive category, with an average angle of 86.3°, found in 31 patients (63.3%). The SNB value was also predominantly in the protrusive category, with an average angle of 83.5°, found in 35 patients (71.4%). The ANB value was mostly in the skeletal Class I category, with an average angle of 2.5°, observed in 22 patients (44.9%). Conclusion: It can be concluded that the variation of skeletal patterns among orthodontic patients at RSKGM of South Sumatera Province consists predominantly of Class I skeletal pattern (44.9%), followed by Class II skeletal pattern (28.6%), and Class III skeletal pattern (26.5%). The SNA value is predominantly in the protrusive category, with an average of 86.30° (63.3%), the SNB value is also predominantly in the protrusive category, with an average of 83.5° (71.4%), and the ANB value is mostly in the Class I skeletal pattern category, with an average of 2.5° (44.9%). Keywords: skeletal pattern variation, cephalometric radiograph, steiner analysis
