PT Bukit Asam Tbk, as a coal mining company, plays a vital role in national energy supply. One crucial aspect of its operational activities is stockpile management, which serves as a coal storage area. Problems encountered at Pit 3 Banko include the inadequate implementation of the First In First Out (FIFO) system and the stockpile height exceeding the standard. This study aims to analyze the actual condition of the stockpile, analyze factors influencing the FIFO system's suboptimality, and analyze efforts to optimize the FIFO system's implementation. The research methods include field observation, primary and secondary data collection. The results indicate that the stockpile management system is suboptimal. The existing stockpiling pattern makes the FIFO system difficult to implement due to limited maximum capacity. The conclusion of this study is the need to improve the stockpile management system through structuring the stockpile pattern, increasing stockpile capacity, and strict supervision of the FIFO system's implementation.
