This study investigates the impact of composite materials consisting of Polycaprolactone (PCL), Magnesium (Mg), and Hydroxyapatite (HA) on the strength and degradation ability of synthetic bone grafts. These materials are mixed in various proportions, namely 90% PCL, 70% PCL 50% PCL, using chloroform as a solvent. The primary aim is to produce artificial bone grafts that closely mimic the characteristics of natural bone and have shorter degradation times, potentially reducing the risk of post-operative complications. The results indicate that the PCL-Mg-HA mixture has potential as a bone graft material with adequate mechanical properties. Compression strength tests showed that the material strength increases with a higher percentage of PCL in the mixture. In terms of degradation time, this mixture offers a shorter period compared to conventional synthetic bone grafts, which could reduce the risk of post-operative complications. However, the study also identifies several challenges, such as non-homogeneous mixing, indicating the need to optimize the mixing process. Recommendations include varying the material composition and improving the mixing process to achieve more uniform distribution and enhance both mechanical properties and degradation speed. In conclusion, this research provides new insights into the development of materials for bone grafts, with broad potential applications in the medical field, supporting more efficient and safer bone replacement.
